Ams Design (ima) COOZILLAR is a swimbait featuring a vertically flattened body modeled after a bluegill, designed to imitate an unsuspecting baitfish swimming just beneath the surface. Its compact body is paired with a shad tail that immediately grips the water upon splashdown, generating an action that transmits vibration from the tail through the entire body to the head. A Colorado blade adds strong flash and vibration while also stabilizing the lure’s posture during the retrieve.

The fins on both sides not only create a bluegill-like profile but also function as stabilizers, helping the lure maintain a consistent depth. Measuring 95 mm in length and weighing approximately 30 g, it runs from just below the surface to a depth of 50 cm and is suitable for retrieve speeds ranging from dead slow to medium. It can be worked from a slow steady retrieve to a faster retrieve, allowing you to adjust the presentation to the target depth. When setting the hook into the body, slightly widening the hook gap with pliers can help reduce damage to the soft material. Because deformation of the fins or tail can affect the swimming action, it is important to avoid bending them during storage.
