Hyplast/ RAKU Royal Shad

Hi-Plast Handcrafted RAKU Royal Shad is a shad-minnow-shaped soft lure designed to replicate the movement of baitfish such as smelt and ayu. Developed through extensive testing at Lake Nojiri and Lake Kizaki, it is hand-poured using a highly buoyant material. This design helps the lure maintain an upright posture on the bottom and makes it easier to achieve a horizontal swimming posture when used on a jighead rig. The slim baitfish-shaped body produces a distinctive, wriggling action during the retrieve.

The uniquely shaped tail creates subtle vibrations reminiscent of a twitching baitfish during a curved fall. When used on a drop-shot rig, it produces an action in which the tail’s orientation changes irregularly. With a jighead rig, it is suited to swimming at a consistent depth, while a drop-shot rig allows you to work it near the bottom. In addition to presentations imitating smelt and ayu, it can also be used to imitate shrimp. Choose from sizes such as 2", 2.5", and 2.7" to suit the conditions.
