RYUGI’s SLIDE PIERCE is a custom worm hook designed to provide greater freedom in eye positioning for backslide rigs, making it easier to adjust the worm’s fall. With a conventional backslide setup using an offset hook, the eye position is difficult to change. The SLIDE PIERCE features a specially shaped worm keeper that allows the eye to be moved forward or backward. Changing the eye position alters the rig’s pivot point and center of gravity, making it easier to adjust the angle and speed of the worm’s fall.
The hook uses a Pierce Hook TC design. It is engineered with an emphasis on hook-point penetration and effective hook-setting, for situations where hook-setting power is difficult to transmit, such as fishing through cover or after making a long cast. It is generally rigged with backslide-style worms, with the worm keeper and eye position adjusted to match the worm’s shape and the desired fall posture. Using a nail sinker in combination allows further fine-tuning of the fall angle and speed. Available sizes are 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0, allowing you to choose the appropriate size for the worm being used.
