RYUGI’s MONO GUARD VESPA G2 is a weedless jig head that retains the delicate action of the VESPA while refining the head balance and guard design. The head’s center of gravity is positioned farther forward and higher than on the original, making it easier to control the rolling action during mid-strolling. The hook is made with a thicker wire than the VESPA, taking into consideration the hook-setting power required when using a guarded jig head.
The guard is made from resin-coated twisted wire, designed to resist weakening even after repeated bending and readjustment. Adjusting the guard angle makes it easy to vary the level of guard resistance, allowing it to be tailored for use around cover and structure. R2012 features a #1 hook and is available in weights from 1/32 oz (0.9 g) to 1/8 oz (3.5 g). Because it is designed with priority given to action, the head may break depending on the conditions of use. Avoid pulling the guard too hard or repeatedly bending it excessively.
