RYUGI’s HOVER SHOT is a worm hook developed for Hovasto, a technique that suspends worms in the midwater column. Based on the hook used for the VESPA jig head, it has been redesigned for improved strength and balance specifically for Hovasto applications. The hook features a worm keeper that holds worms prone to slipping while helping preserve the silhouette of the rigged worm.
When suspending a worm in the midwater column, the design helps stabilize the relationship between the hook and worm, making it easier to create the natural presentation characteristic of Hovasto. To rig it, pass the hook through the worm’s body and use the worm keeper to maintain its position, setting the worm so it does not bend or slip excessively. It can be fished by keeping the worm suspended within a consistent midwater range, or by adjusting the worm’s posture through rod movements and line tension. The HHS127 is available in sizes 6, 4, 3, 2, and 1, allowing you to choose the appropriate size according to the worm being used and the target swimming depth.
