Line System’s ZALT’s THE BLACK FC is designed to balance the ease of handling and strength of fluorocarbon. The 3S treatment, which applies heat treatment and resin processing during the final production stage, creates a silky-smooth surface and delivers a soft feel reminiscent of nylon line compared with conventional fluorocarbon. Carefully selected resins also enhance handling during line management. The 4LB model has a 0.177 mm diameter, equivalent to size 1.0 in Japan, and a measured strength of 4.95 lb. Taking advantage of fluorocarbon’s 1.78 specific gravity, it is suited to techniques that sink lures and situations where you want to minimize the line’s presence.

ZALT’s THE BLACK NL is a nylon model designed to balance tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and light resistance. Silicone-based resin is added to high-strength raw materials to improve smoothness and abrasion resistance, while additives are used to address nylon’s commonly cited weakness in light resistance. FC takes advantage of fluorocarbon’s characteristic specific gravity and handling performance, while NL uses the suppleness unique to nylon, allowing you to choose according to reel and lure operation as well as the rig being used. Both models are available in different sizes and strengths, enabling selection according to line setups for spinning or baitcasting tackle.
