Nishine Lure Works Erie

Nishine Lure Works’ Erie is a short-lip jerkbait designed with a hand-carved body and a focus on response as both a minnow and shad-style lure. It features an internal weight-transfer system that produces a quick-responding rolling action during the retrieve and a wide darting action when worked with the rod.

Diving depth and buoyancy vary by model. The Erie 95MD measures 95 mm and weighs 11.2 g, with a slow-floating configuration that reaches approximately 2.1 m on a straight retrieve. In its standard configuration, it produces a relatively tight roll and moderate darting action. Cutting the fins increases the width of the rolling action and extends the distance traveled during each dart. External weights can also be used to adjust the lure to suspend or slow-sinking. The Erie 115MD measures 115 mm and weighs 21.9 g, reaching approximately 2.7 m on a straight retrieve and approximately 3.9 m with a fully weighted jerk-and-pause presentation. With the external weight attached, it is slow-sinking; with the weight removed, it is slow-floating; and with the weight cut, it becomes suspending. The standard hooks are Ichikawa Fishing Kamakiri Treble #6 for the 95MD and #5 for the 115MD. The recommended snap is the NISHINE Original Snap 1+.
