Skillful Raoul is a tiny crankbait designed to handle like a shad. Despite its compact body, it features an intermediate profile that differs from both conventional flat-side crankbaits and shad lures, delivering a tight, fast-pitch action rather than a wide wobble. It is designed to entice fish with small, rapid movements in situations where a large, wide action is less likely to draw a response.
The body is made from the foamed urethane that Skillful specializes in. This material helps compensate for the difficulty of achieving sufficient buoyancy with plastic in a small body, while also offering the mass-production advantages that are difficult to achieve with balsa. Measuring 45 mm in body length and weighing approximately 5 g, it is sized for easy handling as a tiny crankbait. Use it primarily with a retrieve after casting, just like a standard crankbait, and take advantage of its tight, fast-pitch action to create a shad-like presentation unique to its intermediate body shape. Size 8 hooks are fitted at both the front and rear.
