Rapala’s Flat Rap is a balsa floating minnow that combines a flat-sided body and triangular lip to add quick flash to Rapala’s traditional “wounded minnow” action. The FLR-10 measures 10 cm in body length, weighs 12 g, and features a body shape designed with casting distance in mind.
The flat sides catch the light and reflect strongly, creating a flashing, rolling action, while the triangular lip helps the body deflect when contacting cover and contributes to its sharp response. During the retrieve, it produces a hard-flashing action, and when the retrieve is paused, it slowly rises with a slow-floating action. In addition to a steady retrieve, it can also be worked with a combination of retrieves and pauses around cover or when targeting specific depths. Each lure is hand-tuned and tank-tested after assembly, and is equipped with two VMC black nickel treble hooks. The FLR-10 has an approximate running depth of 0.9–1.5 m.
