Rapala’s X-LIGHT POP is a topwater lure designed as a compact popper with an insect-inspired profile. Featuring a non-rattle design, it maintains a more nearly horizontal posture when floating compared with the rattling Ultra Light Pop 4 (ULP4). Its cup-shaped face produces a loud popping action, creating sound and surface disturbance to make its presence felt at the surface.
The low-air-resistance body design delivers stable flight despite its compact size, while also providing ease of handling during casting. Its buoyancy allows it to be paused on the surface, then worked with the rod to catch water in the cup and create a popping action. Model FNP4 is a floating lure measuring 4.5 cm in body length and weighing 4.5 g. The relatively subdued presence of its non-rattle design combined with a distinct popping sound makes it well suited for targeting fish focused on the surface.
