Rapala Risto RAP

Rapala’s RISTO RAP is a balsa-bodied floating crankbait designed for situations where a shad-style lure lacks appeal, but a fat crankbait is too aggressive. Featuring the sharp action unique to balsa construction and a long lip, it is designed to efficiently cover mid- to deep-water ranges. The diving depth varies by body size: the RR4 reaches approximately 1.5–2.4 m, the RR5 2.1–3.3 m, and the RR7 2.4–3.6 m.

The RR4 measures 4 cm and weighs 5 g, with size #8 treble hooks. The RR5 measures 5 cm and weighs 10 g, with size #5 treble hooks, while the RR7 measures 7 cm and weighs 16 g, with two size #3 treble hooks. From the compact RR4 to the deeper-diving RR5 and RR7, anglers can choose according to size and diving range. Taking advantage of the sharp action produced by the balsa body and long lip, these models are well suited for ranges that are difficult for shad-style lures to reach, as well as situations where a typical fat crankbait would provide too much action.
