Rapala Original Floating

Rapala’s Original Floating is a floating minnow designed around the natural minnow profile of a balsa wood body and an action reminiscent of an injured baitfish. Taking advantage of the lightweight balsa body, it features a responsive action that reacts sensitively to rod manipulation and retrieve speed. Each lure is hand-tuned and tank-tested before shipment, ensuring it delivers its specified action straight out of the box. It is equipped with VMC hooks in a black nickel finish.

Diving depth and hook specifications vary by size. As a general guide, the F-3 dives approximately 2–4 feet, the F-5, F-7, and F-9 approximately 3–5 feet, the F-11 and F-13 approximately 4–6 feet, and the F-18 approximately 6–11 feet. The lineup ranges from smaller models such as the F-3, F-5, F-7, and F-9 to the F-11, F-13, and F-18, allowing you to choose according to the target depth and bait size. Standard techniques include lightly twitching the rod to work the lure near the surface, or retrieving it at a steady speed through shallow water. It can also be rigged with split shot to search the midwater column, or used with a three-way swivel or bottom bouncer to work it near the bottom.
