Lucky Craft Fat CB

Lucky Craft’s Fat CB is a shallow-running, non-rattling crankbait designed to reproduce the buoyancy and snag-deflecting performance of a balsa crankbait in a hard-plastic body. Its internally optimized “Air Floating Concept,” achieved through a complex internal structure, delivers action similar to that of a balsa lure despite its plastic construction. The lip shape and hook placement are designed to move easily through cover, while fixed internal weights help the lure quickly regain its proper posture after contacting an obstacle and return to the center of its retrieve path.

The fat body produces a wide wobbling and rolling action, performing effectively from slow, steady retrieves at a consistent depth to fast retrieves. The series includes the Fat CB BDS1, which runs at approximately 1 ft, and the Fat CB BDS2, designed to probe depths of approximately 2–3 ft, allowing anglers to select the model according to size and running depth. The Fat CB BDS Magic 1.2 features a slightly longer, slimmer body similar to the BDS3, providing a size option between the BDS1 and BDS2. Its shallow-running square bill is suited to shallow-water cover cranking. It is primarily used with a straight retrieve after casting, allowing anglers to work it through cover while taking advantage of its buoyancy to deflect and escape obstacles.
