Megabass Shading X

Megabass’s SHADING-X R is a newly engineered redesign of the finesse shad SHADING-X, which has built a proven track record in demanding tournament conditions. Its internal TRIANGLE・COUNTER・BALANCING system incorporates a fixed belly balancer, a movable back-mounted balancer, and a main weight that shifts from the belly toward the rear. These three centers of gravity change from casting through retrieving and twitching, giving the slim body its unique action.

The ultra-thin tapered body produces a responsive ultra-high-pitch action with a wide rolling motion and sharp vibrations. The shifting center of gravity of the main weight also enhances casting performance with bait finesse and spinning tackle. When the action starts, the lure quickly begins swimming in a nose-down posture. During ultra-dead-slow retrieves in cold water, its action can be elicited by slightly tightening the line. With high-speed retrieves, it switches to a high-pitch vibrating action, while twitching produces irregular movements and a kickback action as the back-mounted balancer shifts.

The lineup includes models such as the SHADING-X R 55 and SHADING-X R 62. The R 55 measures 55 mm, weighs 1/8 oz, and features a suspending specification with two #10 hooks. The R 62 measures 62 mm, weighs 3/16 oz, and features a suspending specification with two #8 hooks. They can be selected according to bait size and the desired feel during operation.
