Megabass Griffon

Megabass’s GRIFFON is a crankbait designed to create a strong presence with a compact body, based on Yukihiro Ito’s pursuit of a “functional and comfortable form.” Its small, rounded body combines improved hydrodynamics with an internal structure that produces the unique “pinball action,” dramatically changing direction when it contacts cover or the bottom. Even after deflecting off course or moving as if fleeing after contact, it is designed to quickly resume its natural swimming action, making it suited to tight presentations around structure. In addition to its standard action during a steady retrieve, tracing the lure while allowing the lip to contact cover or the bottom can trigger irregular movements initiated by those collisions.

The current third generation consists of the SR-X GRIFFON and MR-X GRIFFON. Both measure 43 mm in length and feature a 1/4 oz floating design, but they differ in diving range: the SR-X GRIFFON reaches approximately 1.3 m, while the MR-X GRIFFON reaches approximately 2.5 m. Use the SR-X to quickly search shallow water, and the MR-X to work deeper bottom areas, submerged timber, and similar structure. With its compact profile and ability to quickly resume its action after contact, the GRIFFON series is a core mid-depth crankbait.
