Megabass X-80 TRICK DARTER (X-80 Trick Darter) SP is a minnow developed around a match-the-bait approach targeting baitfish found in Japan, with an 80 mm-class body designed to deliver a presence that exceeds its size. Its body height is approximately 1.7 times that of conventional minnows, and it features a Shiner Form, an intermediate shape between a minnow and a shad.

Inside, it incorporates a low-center-of-gravity, multi-purpose weight-transfer system combining a fixed low-center-of-gravity balancer at the front with a Multi-Purpose Weight Transfer System Mk-2 at the rear. Positioned on the roll axis of the rolling action, the fixed front balancer produces a dynamic roll and sharp, flashing flares. In addition to increasing casting distance, the movable rear balancer helps create its trick action. On a straight retrieve, it swims with a roll-dominant action while tracing a meandering path, and it responds well to jerks and twitches. Even with a simple stop-and-go retrieve, its design makes it easy to trigger irregular movements, flashing side-to-side deflections, and flashes when restarting after a pause.
