MADNESS JAPAN’s BALAM 245 is a multi-jointed model developed to handle ultra-fast retrieves, a challenge that conventional giant baits have struggled to address. It is designed to maintain a stable swimming posture even during high-speed retrieves while imitating the movements of a fleeing baitfish, allowing anglers to target big bass that respond to fast-moving prey around structure.

In addition to the tight, ultra-high-pitch swimming action produced by its multi-jointed body, the sound generated by the movable sections is another defining feature. During fast retrieves, it delivers a dynamic swimming action, while during dead-sticking with the retrieve paused, the jointed body structure and silicone tail create lifelike movement even while the lure is stationary. It also supports the “Eight Trap” technique, which entices fish by making them follow the lure all the way to the angler’s feet. The 245 mm, 3.7 oz-class body combines an ABS resin body with a silicone resin tail and is equipped with DECOY Y-F33F #2/0 hooks. By varying the retrieve speed, pausing the lure, and using the Eight Trap technique, anglers can adapt their approach to changing conditions.
