Bomber Flat A

Bomber’s Flat A is a flat-sided plastic crankbait designed to produce a tight-wobbling action for bass fishing in cold water. The tight wiggle generated by its flat body is considered similar in character to that of balsa crankbaits, making it suitable for periods of low water temperature from fall through spring, as well as situations requiring a slim profile and a subtle action. The body measures 2.5 inches and weighs 3/8 ounce, and it is equipped with two No. 4 treble hooks.

The lure features an oval-shaped lip. The standard Flat A is designed to dive approximately 3 to 5 feet, while the Deep Flat A is designed to reach approximately 4 to 8 feet. The current Deep Flat A model is specified to run at 8 to 10 feet when used with 10-pound line, and corresponds to model number BMB02DFA. Both the Flat A and Deep Flat A are based on the same 2.5-inch, 3/8-ounce body, with the lip design differentiating their operating depth ranges. Next-generation models feature a weight-transfer system, designed to improve casting distance and accuracy—areas considered challenging in previous models. The basic presentation is a steady retrieve, adjusting the running depth while allowing the lip to contact rocks and cover, and selecting the standard or Deep model according to the water depth.
