Hayabusa Bass D-STRIKER

Hayabusa’s D-STRIKER TYPE HOVER is a worm hook designed to reduce the slippage that commonly occurs during hover strolling and to make it easier to maintain subtle lure actions. In addition to a worm keeper on the shank, it features another worm keeper projecting forward from the underside of the line eye. This design accommodates the hover-strolling setup, in which the line eye exits from slightly behind the worm’s head rather than through its very tip. By inserting the keeper into the section near the worm’s head where the hook shank does not pass through, the design helps prevent the worm from shifting during casting, skipping, or a bite.

Another key feature is its shape, which keeps the shank and hook point parallel for improved hook setting. During hover strolling, the worm is worked slowly as if drifting just below the surface, with subtle rod movements such as shaking to attract fish. When rigging, the line eye is not brought out through the very tip of the worm; with an eyed worm, it should exit from around the area behind the eyes. Positioning the line eye sideways also helps keep the knot from shifting. In addition to sizes #3, #2, and #1, which are well suited to small worms, the range includes #1/0 and #2/0 for use with worms in the 5- to 6-inch class.
