Hayabusa Bass Lightning Strike

Hayabusa’s LIGHTNING STRIKE is an offset hook designed for bank fishing, incorporating the performance demanded by Kotaro Kawamura. While taking advantage of the easy penetration provided by its fine-diameter wire, it features a bend with a built-in crank for added strength. Compared with standard offset hooks, its design makes it easier to hold the worm and fish deeper into the bend, while allowing the hook to progressively penetrate deeper from the point for reliable penetration. The line eye and hook point are positioned at different heights, helping the hook point emerge more readily when the worm is under load and making it easier to achieve solid hooksets in situations such as long-distance casts, where hook-setting power is less readily transmitted.

The crank in the bend helps hold the worm in place and minimize slippage, while the narrow-profile shape makes it well suited for fishing cover. With back-sliding worms, it is ideal for situations where hook-setting performance is prioritized over sliding distance, and it can be used both with standard rigging and back-slide setups. It can be used with weightless rigs, light Texas rigs, leaderless drop-shot rigs, and Carolina rigs for dragging the bottom at long range or approaching cover. Sizes from 1/0 to 6/0 are available to match the worm’s size and shape and the way the rig is worked.
