HMKL’s K-I MINNOW is a minnow series designed for bass feeding on small baitfish in high-pressure waters. It features a slim, low-volume profile and responsive handling enabled by a short lip. The flagship K-I MINNOW 50 SP is designed as the smallest model in the K-I series, combining flash from its flat sides with a rolling action that starts even on dead-slow retrieves as slow as a spoon.
On a straight retrieve, its rolling action and flash attract fish. With twitches and jerks, the traditional horizontal line tie used on HMKL minnows produces wide, powerful darting movements from side to side. The K-I MINNOW 65 SP features a silent fixed-weight design that quickly generates a large rolling action while maintaining an almost horizontal posture underwater. Buoyancy settings vary by model, including suspending, floating, and slow-floating types, allowing you to choose according to the target depth and the condition of the fish.
The basic techniques are straight retrieves, twitching, and jerking, while the 50 SP is also suitable for Carolina rigs and sight fishing. Some models allow you to change the tightness or wideness of the action by adjusting the orientation of the line tie, and this also enables fine-tuning when the lure swims off-center.
