Hideup HU-150

HIDEUP’s HU-150 is a floating crankbait designed not only for a steady retrieve, but also for the “riser technique,” which triggers strikes through its action as it rises. Intended for bite-triggering cranking tailored to Japanese fishing conditions, it can be used with a standard retrieve as well as by pausing it to let it float up after contacting structure or cover. Its diving depth is 1.5 m, and the buoyancy calculated from the body shape creates its rising action as it ascends.

The body is designed with a thorough emphasis on casting distance, making it easy to cast even in strong winds and rough conditions. Its buoyancy is set relatively high to help it avoid structure, while pausing it to let it rise produces irregular movements generated by the body design. Although it uses a weight-transfer system, its silent design minimizes the sound of the weight striking the inside of the lure for a more natural presentation. Rather than simply retrieving it at a consistent depth, anglers can combine retrieve, pause, and rise actions to take advantage of changes in running depth and its rising action.
