Berkeley Screamin' Chopper

Berkley’s Screamin' Choppo is designed to add a unique sound of metal rubbing against metal to the conventional Choppo-style topwater action. Its distinctive cup-shaped propeller tail catches the water to create the familiar Choppo sound and splash, while the resonating chamber inside the tail, along with the concentrically arranged rivets and metal tail, adds a metallic ring. This produces an appealing combination of sound and vibration on the water’s surface.

The propeller tail is designed to retain its shape in direct sunlight and inside a hot tackle box, while resisting rolling over at varying retrieve speeds and maintaining a straight swimming action. It can be used to cover the surface not only at a steady speed, but also while adjusting the retrieve speed to suit the conditions. Available in sizes 95 and 110, both models are equipped with sharply designed Fusion19 treble hooks. Rather than replacing the original Choppo, the Screamin' Choppo is positioned as an additional option for a topwater presentation with a different sound profile, making it suitable for situations such as heavily pressured conditions when a change in sound is desired.
