Berkley’s Frittside crankbait was developed to replicate the action of a balsa flat-sided crankbait while offering the durability and castability of a plastic body. Its classic flat-sided shape produces flash, while its sharp, tight wobble and balsa-like thumping action are suited to low-activity fish and high-pressure conditions.

The integrated Flash Disc™ in the belly lowers the center of gravity to improve tracking stability, casting accuracy, and startup action. The slightly thinner body is designed to produce a balsa-like action despite being made of plastic. Equipped with Fusion19 Treble Hooks, it can generally be fished with a steady retrieve. The 5JR, 5, and 5BG are all designed for the shallow 2–5 ft range: the 5JR measures 50 mm and weighs 7 g, the 5 measures 55 mm and weighs 10 g, and the 5BG measures 70 mm and weighs 12 g. The 5BG covers the same depth range with a larger profile. The 7 is designed for 5–7 ft, while the 9 covers 7–10 ft; their weighted lips help them reach the target depth quickly. They can be used in situations when fish activity tends to decline, such as during cold-water or high-water-temperature periods, by selecting the appropriate depth range and size.
