Deps New MAD Waver

Deps’ new MAD WAVER is designed to simultaneously trigger a bass’s predatory instincts and feeding response, pursuing powerful water displacement and a multifaceted attraction unlike that of conventional buzzbaits. The Waver prop features an elongated rear hole, and its original angle design harnesses centrifugal force and water resistance. As the retrieve speed changes, so do the prop’s rotation speed and water resistance, creating a chain reaction of fluttering centered around the upper arm and sliding movements forward and backward, producing strong vibration and friction sounds. No bead or cap is placed at the tip of the prop to prevent weeds and debris from catching, resulting in a structure that is less prone to complicated tangling.

The head uses a B-Custom head tuned to match the Waver prop, designed to strongly churn the water while maintaining a relatively straight track even during fast retrieves. In response to changes in water flow, the head produces a rolling, erratic action from side to side, making it easier to track the lure even in current. The Colorado #3.5 assist blade adds flash and a knocking sound, while contact with the prop produces a flashing, wobbling motion and irregular balance changes. It can be used to target the surface at medium to fast retrieves and the subsurface with a slow retrieve; in the latter case, it creates an enticing presentation that combines a wake and tight vibration. The hook combines a high-resilience Φ1.0 mm wire arm with a custom narrow-bend #5/0 hook featuring an extended shank, with consideration also given to hooksets at long distance.
