Deps Mt.wake

Deps’ MT.WAKE is a high-response jointed wakebait designed for efficiently working short-range areas and pinpoint spots while parting cover. It features a wide coffin bill in a vertical setting, measuring over 30 mm wide relative to the body size, providing snagless performance that helps it deflect branches and floating debris. Its deep-draft, horizontal floating posture and jointed body that quickly catches water allow it to begin wriggling across the surface and just below the surface immediately after the retrieve starts. The rounded body produces natural water-displacing vibrations, while the tail body houses six small-diameter stainless steel rattles.

The large #6 blade mounted on the tail swings widely from side to side in sync with the movement of the jointed body, generating scratch sounds from contacting the line tie and body, flash, and water-disturbing appeal. The basic retrieve is a steady retrieve, but it also supports a shake retrieve, in which the rod is shaken rapidly while reeling to forcibly make the jointed body wriggle while minimizing forward travel. Projections that limit the hooks’ range of movement help reduce tangles with the bill and between the hooks, while the use of large hooks also helps improve the hookup rate. It uses size #3 split rings, and replacing the blade with a smaller size allows for faster retrieves. The body length is 95 mm, and the weight is 1.7 oz.
