Deps Cover SCAT

deps COVER SCAT is a high-specific-gravity falling bait developed for targeting cover, allowing anglers to drop it directly onto selected cover. Its bulky body is made from a high-specific-gravity material with a 40% salt content and features a simple design with unnecessary appendages eliminated. The distinctive fin components on both sides of the body function as stabilizers, maintaining an extremely level fall even when rigged with a hook. Its snag-resistant profile is designed to slip easily into cover, making it easier to deliver the bait to the intended spot.

It is primarily used on a weightless rig and is suited to being cast along the edges of or into cover, then allowed to fall in a horizontal position. It can also be worked with rod-operated jerks on the bottom. Available in 4-inch, 3.5-inch, 3-inch, and 2.5-inch sizes, the recommended hooks are offset hooks #6/0–#7/0 for the 4-inch model, #3/0 or larger for the 3.5-inch and 3-inch models, and #1/0–#2/0 for the 2.5-inch model. Since body volume and recommended hook size vary by model, anglers can choose the appropriate size according to the desired fall speed and the scale of the cover.
