Deps’ BARBUTE is a soft bait designed to target cover and short-range fishing with its compact body, while using the entire body to displace water and generate appeal. Intended for flipping and cover swim jigs, it features a simple design with minimal unnecessary parts that can catch on cover. At the same time, the body is equipped with sharply defined, reverse-tapered ribs, creating a structure that grips the water effectively despite its compact profile. It is made from an ultra-soft material containing 10% salt for improved hook-holding strength, and also incorporates crustacean attractant ingredients.

The flat tails extending from the cylindrical arms catch water even in minimal current, producing an action that churns the water like twin propellers. The center tail generates small, tight vibrations as the bait falls and also supports a kickback action. In addition to slow-fall presentations, swim jigs, and light flipping, it can be used as a jig trailer for bottom-bumping or bottom-hugging retrieves. It is compatible not only with jig trailers, but also with Texas rigs and drop-shot rigs. The recommended offset hook size is #2/0 for the 3.5-inch model and #3/0 for the 4-inch model, with the rigging adjusted to match the bait’s shape. When minimizing snags is a priority, the manufacturer recommends the wire-guard model.
