Deps Flat Back Jig

deps FLAT BACK JIG is a power jig designed to be worked deep into heavy cover and deliver solid hooksets as it works its way back out. Its low center of gravity and flat, wide profile, combined with an eye position at the front of the head, allow it to slip easily through weeds and brush while minimizing tipping onto its side when it reaches the bottom. It is designed to balance cover-avoidance performance with hook-setting performance while reducing the risk of the fish pulling free during the hookset.

It features a custom heavy-wire hook with a diameter selected to minimize interference with hooksets while providing the strength needed to pull fish out of deep cover, making it suitable for close-quarters flipping. A brush guard for working through heavy cover and a wire keeper for securing the trailer are included. During lift-and-fall presentations, it can be worked through weeds, while swimming presentations take advantage of the head’s tendency to rise easily: the streamlined head creates turbulent water that makes the skirt flare and billow. It is also well suited for targeting dying standing weeds in autumn and for tracing breaklines uphill. Available weights are 3/16 oz, 1/4 oz, 3/8 oz, 1/2 oz, 3/4 oz, and 1 oz, with a choice of fine rubber, silicone, or silicone fine skirts.
