TIEMCO’s Hedgehog ECO (Hedgehog FECO Model) is a floating soft lure designed for use around cover, with an emphasis on cover performance. Its body, made from bristled elastomer, is shaped to minimize snagging and facilitate solid hooksets. Thanks to the buoyancy unique to elastomer material, it readily maintains a horizontal posture even on a Texas rig, making it suitable for pitching around cover with an offset hook.
The hairs on the body are individually tuned for length and stiffness. Even slight water movement causes the hairs to move, creating a complex action. During the fall or when shaken on the bottom, the stiff hairs push water and create a strong presence, and the lure can also be used for swimming techniques such as minnow-stroking. Officially recommended rigging options include Texas rigs, weightless rigs, and heavy drop-shot rigs. It is well suited to being dropped into cover, shaken directly beneath the lure, and worked through different depths while monitoring the fish’s response.
The standard model is an 88 mm, 12 g-class lure; the Hedgehog Baby ECO is a 70 mm, 6 g-class lure; and the Hedgehog Mini ECO is a 60 mm, 4 g-class lure, allowing anglers to choose according to conditions and desired handling characteristics. All models are floating elastomer lures. A football-head rig of around 7 g is recommended for the standard model, a 1/0 offset hook for the Baby, and a #1 offset hook for the Mini. After use, store them separately from conventional PVC-based worms and avoid high-temperature environments.
