TIEMCO’s Cicada Origin is a soft-wing lure developed to imitate insects falling onto the water in pressured waters and in lakes and ponds where fish frequently feed on insects. It features transparent soft-plastic wings that provide a shock-resistant design while producing softer ripples and sounds than hard components. The precisely designed soft wings generate a sharp, quick-pitch action on the surface, and even a light rod shake can make the lure imitate an insect that has fallen onto the water and is struggling at the surface. This floating model accommodates a range of presentations, from enticing fish in one spot with a shake to moving the lure with a retrieve. It measures 35 mm in length and weighs 4 g.
Both the front and rear hooks are fitted with size #2 split rings, and the standard setup uses ST26TN #10 treble hooks. When targeting surface-feeding insect patterns, the action can be adjusted with the rod by lightly shaking the lure after it lands to make it struggle in place, then switching to a retrieve as conditions dictate. The manufacturer recommends a spinning rod with a UL to ML action paired with 4–6 lb line, or PE line in approximately sizes 0.4–1.
