Tiemco Deruzze

TIEMCO’s Deruzze is a minnow/shad lure developed for bass targeting smelt at the surface. It is designed to produce a natural action from wind and waves without requiring rod work. The Deruzze 55F positions its weights and hooks to maintain the body at a 45-degree floating angle. When left floating on the surface, the body rolls vigorously like a pendulum in response to waves and wind, creating a movement reminiscent of a dying smelt. The tail features TMC Morpho Fiber, a specialized material that applies the color-producing principle of morpho butterfly wings to create a subtle, natural glow when it catches the light. Measuring 55 mm and weighing approximately 2.5 g, this floating model is suited to presentations that allow it to drift across the surface while matching the size of the available baitfish.

The Deruzze 55SS, meanwhile, is an ultra-slow-sinking model developed for situations in which the lure does not rise all the way to the surface. In addition to its I-shaped action as it drifts beneath the surface, it features TMC Melty Hair on the tail, a flat-profile fiber with excellent water absorption. The fibers move softly even with slight changes in current, while their irregular reflection creates a lifelike presence. Measuring 55 mm and weighing approximately 2.6 g, it is ideal for slowly working the subsurface, including during sight-fishing situations. Recommended tackle consists of a 6'2" to approximately 7'2" L to ML-action rod with 4–5 lb line or PE line in approximately 0.3–0.6号. When using PE line, a setup with an approximately 1 m length of 4–5 lb fluorocarbon leader is recommended.
