TIEMCO’s Prop Pepper is a double-prop topwater lure developed around the concept of low appeal and high noise. It incorporates the Prop Technology PAT. of topwater lure manufacturer Hiyoko Brand. The 0.8 mm-thick stainless-steel props are weighted to create resistance as they begin to rotate. Retrieved at just the speed at which the props are about to start turning, the lure produces random currents and vibrations.
The propeller holes are square-shaped, allowing the props to contact the cup washers and screw eyes as they rotate, creating a distinctive clicking sound and vibration. The front and rear props rotate in opposite directions, and the tail hook has been eliminated so it does not interfere with the rear prop’s movement. Another feature is the lure’s reduced overall buoyancy, which makes it easier for fish to inhale the lure when striking. It is primarily designed for a slow retrieve at the speed required to rotate the props. Although it targets fish focused on the surface, it can be used as a finesse topwater lure when fish are unresponsive to flashy actions or fast movements, as well as when baitfish are visible near the surface. In poor weather, the clicking sound and vibrations can be utilized by adding jerks to work it like a conventional swisher. Measuring 100 mm and weighing approximately 16 g, it is equipped with ST36BC #4 treble hooks on both the front and rear. If the lure swims at an angle, the line tie and props can be fine-tuned.
