DAIWA’s STEEZ APNAS BUG is an elastomer insect-style soft bait designed for use as a trailer on the STEEZ Power Finesse Jig and STEEZ Power Finesse Jig Type Cover. The elastomer body provides high buoyancy while reducing tearing, making it suitable for insect patterns focused on the water’s surface. The ultra-thin leech tail quivers with even the slightest current, producing the APNAS BUG’s unique action when paired as a jig trailer. When used with the Type Cover, its shape is designed to avoid disrupting the jig’s “sphere theory.”
The protrusion on the underside of the body allows the hook to be passed through it when rigging the bait on the STEEZ Power Finesse Jig or Type Cover, enabling a neat, secure setup. The protrusions on the upper and lower sides of the head are designed to conceal the hook point when using an octopus-style hook, helping reduce debris pickup, which can be a concern in finesse fishing. In addition to use as a jig trailer, it pairs easily with drop-shot and free-rig setups, taking advantage of its compact 1.8-inch body for precise presentations.
