Daiwa Steez Popo Frog

The DAIWA STEEZ POPO FROG is a compact frog lure developed to deliver the action sought by Yukiya Uchiyama, incorporating the expertise of Mr. Shiro Suganuma of the frog brand Deep Forest®. Its tapered nose is designed to slip easily through cover, while wide side fins are positioned on both sides of the nose. These fins compensate for the reduced ease of imparting action caused by the tapered nose, using the planar surfaces on the sides and underside of the body to push water and stabilize the action and splash during retrieves. The underside is designed flat to provide the contact surface with the water needed for the so-called belly-slapping action.

Measuring 46.5 mm in length and weighing 9.3 g as standard, this floating frog is designed for easy casting despite its compact body. The original Deep Forest double hook, developed specifically for frog lures, features a heavy-gauge wire and an open-gap design, while the body has been carefully shaped with hook-setting performance in mind. In addition to moving across the surface, it is designed to be worked with rod movements that make the side fins and underside push water, creating action and splash to entice strikes. Equipped with a double hook as standard, this model is designed to combine weedless cover penetration with effective action for frog fishing around cover and on the surface.
