Daiwa Fuku Hira

Daiwa’s FUKU HIRA is a shallow crankbait developed to be easy to use—just cast it out and retrieve—while producing the natural action and flash characteristic of a flat-side crankbait. It features an ultra-thin circuit-board lip that generates a tight, high-pitch action on a steady retrieve. When retrieved with a shaking motion, it makes sharp, side-to-side head movements. It can also be used with a shaking retrieve near the surface, allowing you to entice fish just below the water while limiting the lure’s forward movement, making it easier to watch the lure’s action and identify strikes.

Flat-side crankbaits are generally more difficult to cast and require some practice to handle, but the FUKU HIRA’s slightly wider body provides sufficient weight. Despite its fixed-weight design, it is easy to cast and offers a user-friendly balance for a flat-side crankbait. It measures 55 mm and weighs 9.5 g, with a floating design. Its maximum diving depth is 1.5 m, making it suitable primarily for covering shallow water. It comes equipped with size #6 hooks featuring Sakusasu specifications and a special fluorine-based plating. In addition to a standard steady retrieve, combining a shaking retrieve with rod movements near the surface takes advantage of the FUKU HIRA’s head-shaking action. The color lineup includes standard colors, R colors with an internal reflector, and BN colors with an internal bone insert.
