DAIWA’s STEEZ SQUARE is a shallow crankbait designed under the supervision of Kyosuke Umeda, with an emphasis on fundamental performance that is easy to use in a variety of conditions across Japan and stable tracking during fast retrieves. To trigger reaction bites from fish that are reluctant to strike in increasingly pressured waters, it pursues a sharp action and the stability needed for anglers to keep reeling with a fast-paced presentation.

Instead of a weight-transfer system, it uses fixed low-center-of-gravity weights for an action that starts immediately from the beginning of the retrieve. A circuit-board lip, which increases the action pitch, is combined with a triangular cross-section body that deflects water flow and accommodates high-speed retrieves, ensuring stable tracking. It also handles current well and is intended for use in rivers. The basic technique is steady cranking after the cast, with faster retrieves particularly effective for taking advantage of its speed and action. The current STEEZ SQUARE 100 is a floating model measuring 53 mm in length, weighing 7.9 g, and reaching a maximum diving depth of 1 m. It comes equipped with size 6 SAKUSAS treble hooks with a SAKUSAS finish.
