Daiwa Shrimpede

DAIWA’s SHRIMPEDE and SHRIMPEDE Jr. are designed to imitate the movements of fleeing shrimp and shrimp drifting through the water, with falling and high-speed twitching as their key actions. The vertically and horizontally symmetrical body makes hook rigging easy and is compatible with both offset hooks and trout-style hooks. When allowed to fall weightless, the legs extending from the body quiver and attract fish, while high-speed twitching makes the firm material push water and produce an escape-like action. The material hardness has been tuned with handling and hook-holding strength in mind, and tested to help avoid interfering with hook-setting.

The cups on both sides of the body create popping sounds and movement when the lure is tapped on the surface during chōchin-style fishing, adding an appeal different from that of conventional insect-style lures. The SHRIMPEDE is the standard size, designed to balance casting distance and bite-inducing ability while remaining easy to use. The SHRIMPEDE Jr. features longer legs for a more finesse-oriented presentation and a slower fall, giving bass more time to see the lure. Depending on the conditions, anglers can switch between a weightless fall, chōchin-style manipulation near the landing point, and high-speed twitching.
