SMITH’s BINTURN 80S is a lipless jerkbait that produces the subsurface darting action typically seen with big baits in an 80 mm body. Its standout feature is a highly responsive sliding dart action that sharply bursts sideways the moment you twitch it. Unlike conventional lipped jerkbaits, which brake abruptly, it makes long, wide slides that allow you to cover a broad area. By varying the strength of your rod work, you can use it for everything from short turns with limited travel to wide darts generated by continuous manipulation.

Featuring a front-heavy, slow-sinking design, it sinks head-down. Although it is primarily intended for use in the subsurface range, you can adjust the sink time to target different depths. It is also effective for targeting fish suspending around vertical structure. To reduce the light, insubstantial feel often associated with lipless plugs during retrieves, the flat section of the head catches water when twitched, providing a moderate amount of feedback through the rod. It measures 80 mm and weighs 11.8 g. Fluorocarbon line in the 10–14 lb range is recommended; nylon line may result in more frequent tangles and should be used with caution. It comes equipped with BKK 6062-1X-NP #8 treble hooks and #2 split rings. On colors featuring a fluorescent yellow bite marker on the head, the lure’s movement is easier to follow visually, and bites are easier to see as they happen.
