Smith Biwaa

SMITH LTD.’s Biwaa SWIMBASS is a swimbait that combines power and smoothness with a seven-section articulated body replicating the form of a bass and a wide square lip. Each body section is connected using Biwaa’s proprietary special woven fabric, creating a structure in which the joints follow the movement naturally without strain. The wobbling action generated as the lip firmly catches water is transformed by the seven sections into a continuous motion, producing a natural S-curve action during the retrieve. The special woven fabric used at the joints has a strength of 40 lb (approximately 18 kg), and wider fabric is used for the deep-bodied SWIMBASS.

Designed as a slow-sinking model, it can be retrieved slowly through a consistent depth, while a countdown allows you to adjust the target range. When paused during the retrieve, the body rolls sharply to flash its sides, and it is designed to continue swimming as it falls. On the bottom, it stands with the hooks resting on the substrate, allowing stop-and-go retrieves that stir up mud in shallow areas, as well as presentations incorporating short twitches around cover. The body surface features a photo finish taken from an actual fish, while the treble hooks are made in Japan and use extra-sharp black nickel hooks. The split rings are made of flattened stainless steel. This slow-sinking model measures 150 mm in length and weighs 65 g.
