SMITH LTD.’s BF SHRIMP is a craw-style soft bait with a hybrid profile that combines elements of a chunk, hog, and pintail to deliver plenty of appeal in a compact silhouette. It was designed with a cohesive profile when paired with a finesse jig, balanced weight distribution for casting, and a body shape that makes it easy to rig with an offset hook as a standalone bait. Small side appendages help minimize interference with the finesse jig’s rubber skirt, while the body is made from a salt-infused, high-density material featuring a fish-and-shellfish formula.

The tail features a rib-like internal structure inside a thin, water-catching chunk tail, giving it enough stiffness to resist wrapping around cover. Even on lightweight rigs, the chunk tail produces a broad, undulating action, while the pintail extending from its tip entices with subtle vibrations, allowing anglers to switch between strong appeal and delicate action. The rear arms open and close vigorously to push water, respond with an up-and-down movement when shaken, and also help improve castability by shifting the center of gravity forward. The 2.8-inch size pairs well with finesse-jig trailers, light Texas rigs up to 1/8 oz, and subtle drop-shot presentations; a #4 offset hook or mosquito-style hook is recommended as a guideline. When rigged upside down without a weight, it can also produce a backslide fall; set the bait so the hook eye is positioned in the gap between the left and right chunk tails. The 3.4-inch size is suitable for finesse jigs weighing approximately 2 g or more, Texas rigs across a wide range of weights, and heavy drop-shot rigs, allowing anglers to select the appropriate rig and tackle according to the bait size.
