SMITH’s Depthy Do is a long-selling system deep crankbait developed to cover different diving depths using the same body. Building on the expertise accumulated through depth-specific plugs such as the Hasty, Misty, Shatty, and Sticky, it was released in 1997. Because all models use the same body, retrieve resistance changes very little when switching types, making it easy to cover different ranges with a single rod.
On a steady retrieve, it produces a lively, tight-wobbling action and is designed with obstacle avoidance in mind. With a 55 mm body and an 8 g floating configuration, the Depthy Do 1 reaches a maximum diving depth of 1.8 m, the Depthy Do 2 reaches 2.5 m, and the Depthy Do 3 reaches 3.2 m. These figures are based on 10 lb line and a 20 m casting distance, allowing you to select the model according to the depth you want to target.
