SMITH’s B-AREA FUN is a bass rod with an ultra-short, light-power design, created not only to catch fish efficiently but also to make the fight with every fish more memorable. The two-piece baitcasting model BAF2-C47UL features the same action as the one-piece BAF-CG47UL series, while offering a compact transport length that is easy to carry on fishing trips by foot, bicycle, or public transportation. Measuring 4 feet 7 inches, it has ultralight power and a moderate action, with a tubular carbon blank. It is equipped with Fuji guides, a TCS reel seat suited to baitcasting models, and a gun-grip-style EVA handle designed for a secure hold.

The short length is easy to swing with minimal effort and provides excellent control for short-range casts, including backhand casts. Although it has light power, the blank is designed to cover a broad range of applications and handles lures up to approximately 3/8 oz. It is also well suited to fishing with small topwater plugs. When a fish strikes a hard lure, the tip and midsection are designed to follow the fish’s movement, while the tenacious butt section and overall blank absorb the fish’s power.
