Spro Wameku Shad

SPRO’s WAMEKU SHAD 70 is a lipless vibrating lure designed by MLF angler Shinichi Fukae, featuring a powerful rattle sound. Its name, “wameku,” means “to scream” in Japanese, reflecting its design to attract fish with a loud sound.

The body features two line ties, allowing you to change the action and running depth depending on the attachment point. The front line tie, located near the eye, is suited to targeting deeper water and produces a tight, subtle action. The rear line tie is easier to fish in shallower water and creates a wide, aggressive action. The front line tie is designed for a running depth of approximately 5–8 feet, while the rear line tie covers approximately 3–5 feet.

The 70mm, 3/4-ounce body is equipped with Gamakatsu Round Bend Treble Hooks #4 and a G-Finesse Tournament Snap Size M. During a steady retrieve, you can take advantage of the action characteristics of each line tie to adjust the running depth and level of attraction. Use the different line-tie positions depending on whether you are probing deeper water with a tight action or covering shallow areas with a strong action and rattling sound.
