Spro Fat John

SPRO Fat John is a flat-sided square-bill crankbait developed by John Crews for efficiently covering shallow water. Combining a wide body with a strong presence relative to its body size and a uniquely shaped square bill, it is designed to push plenty of water in shallow ranges while deflecting off cover by using the bill as a pivot point when it makes contact with an obstacle. Its distinctive hunting action, generated by the flat-sided body, allows anglers to cover shallow water with a movement unlike that of conventional crankbaits.

FAT JOHN 50 measures 50 mm, weighs 3/8 oz, and has a running depth of 0–2 ft, making it well suited for covering shallow areas and spots with limited depth at a brisk pace. FAT JOHN 60 measures 60 mm, weighs 5/8 oz, and has a running depth of 1–3 ft. Its larger body and stronger water displacement provide greater presence when needed. Both models are designed to produce their action during the retrieve and are well suited for winding them while allowing the square bill to contact the bottom or shallow cover. The FAT JOHN 50 comes standard with #5 Gamakatsu round-bend treble hooks, while the FAT JOHN 60 is equipped with #3 Gamakatsu round-bend treble hooks.
