JACKALL’s BESTIE is a finesse-oriented mosquito hook designed to combine quick hook-setting during sight fishing with effective action transmission from small soft baits. To improve penetration with light tackle, the hook features a reduced approach angle while maintaining contact with the soft bait. The angle has been refined to help the hook point enter the soft bait more easily.
The bend features sharp-angled corners to help prevent the soft bait from rotating when wacky rigged. In addition, the straight section between the two corners securely holds the soft bait and helps maintain its position when nose-hooked. This makes it easier to transmit the angler’s input to the soft bait through the shape of the hook. The hook is made from “PRO SPEC METAL,” a dedicated hook-material blend that is hard, resistant to breakage, and less prone to deformation. Its surface is treated with low-friction PTFE. It is designed for use with wacky rigs, nose-hooking, and drop-shot rigs while helping to prevent the soft bait from rotating or losing its intended position. Available in sizes 8, 6, 5, 4, and 3.
