Jackall Maekon

JACKALL’s MAEKON is a jointed bait featuring the MONO Flex Joint System, which increases the body’s freedom of movement to produce a time-lagged rolling action: the front body responds quickly to input, while the rear body follows behind with a delay. The rear body acts as a brake, allowing anglers to work the bait in a pin-spot area with minimal forward movement when imparting a side-to-side action. It is tuned for an agile response to subtle actions, while maintaining an action that is less likely to break down even under strong inputs.

The natural flat-sided body features a gentle curve that generates strong water displacement during a dog-walk retrieve, while producing a moderate sense of resistance and powerful wobbling action on a straight retrieve. The slash-cut tail, whose connection to the body is cut diagonally, is made from firm silicone material and pushes water as the tail angles downward. The thin ABS lip efficiently catches water, with a maximum running depth of approximately 1.2 m. The rear feather hook provides a braking effect that helps reduce forward movement during a dog-walk retrieve. The lineup includes the MAEKON 180SF, measuring 180 mm, in the 1.7 oz class with a slow-floating action and #2 hooks, and the MAEKON Jr.SF, measuring 150 mm, in the 1 oz class with a slow-floating action and #4 hooks. The MAEKON Jr.SF is designed with a relatively light body weight for improved casting and handling, allowing anglers to use it without big-bait tackle.
