Jackall Need Bug

JACKALL’s NEED BUG is an insect-style soft lure designed to be used both floating on the surface and subsurface, with a focus on reproducing lifelike movement. Made from highly buoyant elastomer material, the body and rubber create surface tension to imitate the vibrations of an insect struggling on the water’s surface. A molded core with a weight positioned toward the rear is built into the body, providing stable casting distance and a consistent floating posture on the surface. Another distinctive feature is its construction, which combines a highly transparent clear soft shell with a colored core visible from inside to create a natural silhouette. It measures 28.5 mm in length and is a floating type.

The molded core is equipped with an eye through which the hook can be threaded. Rigging the hook through this eye allows techniques such as long-distance casting, skipping, and hanging presentations. When used on the surface, the basic approach is to let it float after moving it, enticing fish with the ripples and the movement of the rubber. For subsurface use, the manufacturer recommends inserting a nail sinker into the body with a through-nail rig to make it sink slowly, or suspending it underwater on a drop-shot rig by taking advantage of the buoyancy of the elastomer material. The Mohican model features an additional, highly visible rubber strand oriented vertically on the head side, and the hook should be threaded through the rubber’s knot when rigging. Because it is made from elastomer material, care should be taken during storage to prevent contact with other lures.
