Jackall Nakata Jig

JACKALL’s NAKATA JIG is a custom rubber jig developed by Hiroki Nakata of Magnum Guide Service. Featuring a unique head shape and line-eye position, it is designed as a weight that actively produces action. The flattened head has a minimized contact area to help prevent it from tipping onto its side, while the use of hard, high-purity resin tungsten makes it easier to detect bottom composition. Its distinctive shape stabilizes the jig’s posture on the bottom and is also designed to help it navigate changes in bottom structure.

The line eye is positioned close to the hook, allowing the hook to more easily rise into position when line tension is applied. During the hook set, the jig’s upward recoil helps drive the hook into the fish. When shaken, the head acts as a pivot to lift the trailer high, and the nature of the presentation can be adjusted by changing the trailer. Basic techniques include dragging, bottom-bumping, and letting the jig sit. Its easy handling makes it simple to impart the intended action even in deep water. Because it can attract fish not only after reaching the bottom but also while falling, it is well suited to slow, bottom-oriented presentations. Available weights include 1/4 oz, 3/8 oz, and 1/2 oz, allowing anglers to select the appropriate size according to the depth and presentation tempo.
