Shimano’s 26 ZODIAS rod series pursues refined handling and sensitivity for today’s diverse bass fishing applications while thoroughly optimizing fundamental performance. It features a hollow, one-piece rear grip formed with a carbon monocoque grip, transmitting information directly to the angler’s hand, including the texture of the bottom underwater, the initial movement of a bite, and slack in the line. Hi-Power X wraps the outer layer of the blank in X-shaped carbon tape, suppressing twisting during casting and fighting fish, making it easier to bend the rod in the intended direction while also providing efficient power transmission.

The spinning models combine a lightweight, small-diameter guide train with a compact, up-lock reel seat and grip design to improve overall balance, grip comfort, and precise handling, including line-slack control. The design is suited to a range of techniques with different rigs and presentations, including mid-strolling, reaction drop-shotting, power finesse, and hard baits. The 2-piece models use a spigot-joint construction, and the 264L-2 measures 6 feet 4 inches, has a lure weight rating of 3–10 g, a line rating of 3–6 lb, two sections, and weighs 90 g.
